Galileo SS-G90080EQ2SF The ne Galileo SS-90080EQ2SF Astro-Terrestrial Refractor Telescope with Solar Filter Cap and G-SPA Adapter. The Galileo Solar Filter Cap lets you view the Sun safely, day or night. It can be used traditionally for night viewing of the moon, planets in the sky, or terrestrial scenes during the day. The Galileo SS-90080EQ2SF is mounted on a newly designed precision KM-EQ2 German Equatorial mount. The mount features solid metal construction, setting circles and locking knobs in declination and right ascension, counterbalance shaft and weight, latitude adjuster, and slow-motion controls with detachable flex cables in both axes. The mount is attached to a reinforced KT4 pre-assembled metal tripod that is fully adjustable and features retractable rubber feet.
The SS-90080EQ2SF optical tube assembly features a 900mm focal length. The objective lens is an 80mm two-element achromat (color correct crown & flint) air-spaced objective lens. The tube is aluminum, painted flat black internally, and fully baffled for excellent visual and CCD imaging. The objective is fully multi-coated and has a resolving power of 1.9 arc seconds. The optical tube assembly is diffraction limited at ?4 (1/4 wave in Sodium light). The diagonal comprises a 90° mirror, providing right-side-up images for terrestrial viewing. The finderscope is Galileo’s Mars’ Red Dot Finderscope which helps get the observer behind the telescope without losing the surrounding field of view when targeting objects.
Included with the SS-90080EQ2SF are a 1¼" 25mm Astroscopic eyepiece, a 1¼" 10mm Plössl eyepiece, and a 2x 2-element Barlow lens. The 25mm is a three-element, fully color-corrected, modified Rank Kasspheric eyepiece with an apparent field of view of 52°. The 10mm Plössl eyepiece is a four-element, fully color-corrected eyepiece with an apparent field of view of 52°. The G-SPA Smart Phone adapter mounts to the telescope and allows you to use the camera feature on your Smartphone to take pictures or video through the optics of your binoculars, spotting scope, microscope, etc. You can also mount your Smartphone on a standard camera tripod for hands-free video calls, family photos with everyone in the picture, or anytime you want to include yourself in the action. The Smartphone adapter lets you use the camera feature on your Smartphone to take pictures or video through the optics of your telescope or use your Smartphone to assist in navigating your telescope view to your celestial object of interest.
